Mijas, a municipality of the province Malaga, is located on the Costa del Sol between Malaga and Marbella. Mijas is divided in three centers: Mijas pueblo, La Cala de Mijas and Las Lagunas. Away from the coast, and its main residential areas of El Faro, La Cala, Riviera del Sol and Calahonda, Mijas municipality extends over a vast area into the beautiful countryside on the way to Alhaurín el Granse and Coín, passing through the town of Mijas, called Mijas pueblo. This town is known for it’s typical Andalusian white-washed buildings and the touristic donkey rides.
Mijas offers a large variety of properties: from luxury villas, beach side apartments, Spanish style townhouses to country houses called “finca”. Due to it’s location, the Spanish municipality is surrounded by lots of beautiful nature and golf courses but is also close to the sea, which allows you to enjoy all three of their views.
There are 27 golf clubs located near Mijas, the most popular ones being La Cala, Golf Torrequebrada, Cabopino Golf and Calanova Golf Club.
Mijas Costa holds all of Mijas’ beaches, but many visitors also enjoy visiting the beaches of Fuengirola. Some popular beaches are: Calahonda Playa, el Cabo Rocosso, Playa la Cala de Mijas, El Bombo, Playa de Fuengirola. Some of the best Spanish tapas and paella can be found in the restaurants on the beaches of Mijas, as this part of the coast has stuck true to their Andalusian origins.
Residentially, the streets of Mijas Costa are peaceful and safe for children to ride their bikes and to let your dog out.
International schools are in Marbella and Benalmadena and are all close by, so are the shopping centres, sport facilities, supermarkets and hospitals.
